Yeah, that seems like a weird oversight on our part, huh. But, better late than never: Summerscreen, the L’s free outdoor film summer series, Tuesday nights this month and next at the McCarren Park Pool, kicks off tonight with a sort of very extended, very happy happy hour: a Williamsburg Block Party, kicking off at 4pm and featuring tons of food from local eateries and music from local bands, so you can hang out all street-fair-y on a Monday night while waiting for the movie to start. The movie, of course, being Wet Hot American Summer… which! special late-breaking news bulletin slash confirmation of earlier announcement, will be introduced by the film’s co-writer and star Michael Showalter, of The State/Stella/Other sources of gloriously profane non-sequiturs.
We will pretty much see you there, then.
