The Green Map is an online resource that allows designated local users to assemble Google Maps-style guides to what’s green where: sustainable businesses and community resources for locals and visitors wondering how they can do better.

The Open Green Map, which will launch officially this summer, is an open-sourced version of same, Harnessing the Power of the Internet to bring real-time, user-updated green information and resources to you, the conscientious internet user (to the extent that that’s not an oxymoron).

Join lots of other fundamentally decent human beings on June 5th, for the live, global launch party; bring a site to add to the map.

  • Congrats to GMS and all the hard working staff!!

  • Residents of Fort Greene (Brooklyn) collaborated with Green Map; we noted all the sustainable businesses/services/products in the area. It was a lot of fun canvasing the neighborhood and it ultimately helped other local residents discover some unkown green resources. I recommend creating one for your own neighborhood!
