For our readers who may not be familiar with your work, what’s the most accurate thing someone else has said about it?
It’s by the bull-headed for the bull-headed.

What have you read/watched/listened to/looked at/ate recently that will permanently change our readers’ lives for the better?
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Damn fine film.

Whose ghostwritten celebrity tell-all (or novel) would you sprint to the store to buy (along with a copy of The Meditations of Marcus Aurelius so that the checkout clerk doesn’t look at you screwy)?
Anything by or about Dolly Parton. I wouldn’t buy a cover-up. Anyone ashamed of Dolly doesn’t deserve her.

Have you ever been a Starving Artist, and did it make you brilliant, or just hungry?
Hungry, cold, and sick. But no complaints.

What would you characterize as an ideal interaction with a reader?

Storm-chasing on the Great Plains, maybe followed by a pick-up game of street hockey using my signed Bobby Hull hockey stick?

Have you ever written anything that you’d like to take back?
Oh, I’m fairly certain I’ll regret this.
