Halloween at Brooklyn Bowl: Deer Tick as the Sex Pistols, “Special Guests” as Sonic Youth

If you don’t already have Halloween plans—and I hope you don’t, because jesus, dude, you are an adult and you should not be planning for Halloween this far in advance—I recommend that you head over to Brooklyn Bowl for what is sure to be a fun evening. The whole night is being organized by Deer Tick, who will be performing a full-length set as the Sex Pistols, during which they should play at least one cover in the alt-country/indie-folk style they’re known for, because that would be awesome. Kicking off the show, you’ve got Dangerous, an all-metal Michael Jackson cover band, which I can imagine is fun for at least six or eight minutes. Following them, the music of Sonic Youth will be performed by some special guests, the identity of whom I could not even begin to guess, because who the hell knows how to play Sonic Youth songs? There’s also gonna be pizza with bacon and jalapeno peppers. Press release after the jump.

Williamsburg’s acclaimed bowling alley/restaurant/music venue Brooklyn Bowl, is hosting an exciting Halloween party featuring headliner Deer Tick. The country rock band that you typically hear grizzled folk tunes from will take the Brooklyn Bowl stage to perform an entire set of punk rock Sex Pistols hits. Dangerous will get the party started with an all metal tribute to Michael Jackson, followed by special guests performing a full set of Sonic Youth.
Special guests to be announced October 29th.

Brooklyn Bowl will be offering up “Deer Tick Pizza” all night long. Created by the band themselves, the Deer Tick Pizza pairs smoked bacon and fresh sliced jalapeno peppers on Blue Ribbon’s signature crunchy French bread pizza.

Brooklyn Bowl has also created a custom limited edition poster designed specifically for this event that will be available for purchase at the show. And as always, the extravagantly inventive full Blue Ribbon menu will also be available and lanes will be open for bowling all night. So come early for dinner or stick around after the show for some late-night munchies and a midnight bowl session.

And remember to wear a costume for free admission!
