‘Tis the season for presents, candy canes and, most of all, summer music festival speculation. While it seems logical to assume that good ol’ Pavement will be headlining one of the three nights of the annual Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival this April, according to Consequence of Sound, “a source with knowledge of the festival’s plans” has disclosed that atmospheric UK rockers Muse are on board for one of the headlining slots in support of their newish album, The Resistance. They go on to mention Hot Chip and The xx being among other confirmed artists, which makes sense, although we thought people would be over The xx by spring. Go figure. Would be cool if Panda Bear could jump on this train instead of just playing in Europe and seriously making us consider moving to Barcelona, especially with word that a fourth solo album is on the horizon. We’re just sayin’, Noah. It would be nice. The official Coachella lineup will be announced in January, so keep your eyes peeled.
