Joanna Newsom Announces Tour Dates, Forgets to Book One in New York

Well this is sort of a bummer, no? Everyone’s, but especially Liz Colville’s, favorite harp-wielding indie rock singer turned fancy model type and dater of famous people, Joanna Newsom, has announced a string of tour dates for this spring, but somehow manages to miss New York by about 120 miles. First she heads over to Australia and New Zealand for about three weeks, then returns to the States for a handful of shows in cities like Grand Rapids, Milwaukee, Knoxville, and, of all places, Philadelphia (it’s in Pennsylvania). Considering there’s a very good chance she’ll be playing new material, this is super not cool. Perhaps there are more announcements to come? If not, how much is a plane ticket to New Zealand? Hopefully incomplete tour schedule after the jump.
