Snowboard Dunking

In John Branch‘s Times preview of the 2010 Winter Olympics (which turned out to be eerily prophetic), he explained how the International Olympic Committee has been steadily adding faster and more dangerous sports to the winter games to boost TV ratings and therefore ad revenue, which are always low compared to the summer games. By that logic, the snowboard slam dunk competition—which combines one of the Olympics’ most popular summer sports with its most ostensibly youth-oriented winter competition—should be a an Olympic sport for sure by the time 2014 rolls around.
