I guess it’s kind of cool that last night, on the eve of the 100th International Women’s Day (which is for all women, not just the international ones), Kathryn Bigelow became the first ever woman to win an Oscar for Best Director. Conversely, you could just shake your head at how long it took. To wit, here is a hypnotizing intellectual talk show with Susan Sontag and international woman Agnes Varda being smart, just cold smoking in the studio. And get this: they’re being interviewed by a Newsweek senior editor—how low we’ve fallen. (Part II is here.)
