About 10 years ago, the British government’s 1939 war-time propaganda poster “Keep Calm and Carry On” was rediscovered and, since nobody had bothered to maintain any kind of copyright on the thing for about a half century, it had become part of the public domain. That’s allowed innumerable people to reprint it and now, finally, a website to set up a poster-generator: Keep-Calm-o-matic. And given our contemporary jitters and infinite anxieties, this couldn’t come at a better time. Try it out, you’ll find that it’s weirdly calming.
