FIFA art posters by William Kentridge, Marlene Dumas and Julie Mehretu

In preparation for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa (kick-off on June 11, get pumped!), FIFA commissioned 17 international art stars to design a line of official poster editions. They’re a little expensive ($3724.95 for all of ’em, $173 to $350 each), but for the most part quite beautiful, and include contributions from South African artists William Kentridge and Marlene Dumas (above left and center, respectively) and an oldie-but-goodie from Ethiopian-American artist Julie Mehretu (above right). If the posters were in a tournament, the winner would probably be Kentridge for his awesome bicycle kick, or Peter Eastman‘s moody nocturnal. (ArtInfo)
