The L Magazine: WE STILL LOVE POETRY AND SO SHOULD YOU

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times, WE HAVE POETRY IN ORDER NOT TO DIE OF THE TRUTH. That is why we continue to publish new poetry from New York poets (even though they have no place to be born or die in now)… And that’s why we will continue to insist that you read more poetry, at the very least to give you a slightly bigger picture of the world as you race from bed to subway to work to bar to bed. This week’s installation is from Caitlin Cowan, and features this line, which I wish I’d written (though I know I felt): “I have science, I have Shakespeare/and I’m young and it’s enough.” (Read the whole thing here.)
