Surprising bit of news from New York City’s live music circuit today: Jack “Skippy” McFadden will no longer serve as talent booker for The Bell House, the Gowanus venue that opened less than two years ago. He confirmed, via email, that he has been let go, but he was unable to discuss to specifics of what went down.
When asked for comment, Jim Carden, who co-owns The Bell House, as well as Union Hall and Floyd, would say only that it was “a mutual parting of the ways,” and that it’s not yet known who the replacement will be. The whole situation is made far more complicated, one imagines, by the fact that McFadden is also part owner of The Bell House.
More details as they become available.
