Most likely feeling a little bit sad and a little bit jealous that all the nerds are currently devoting pretty much all their energy to the new Arcade Fire album, Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien revealed in an interview with BBC 6 Music that the band will be finishing its new record “in a matter of weeks,” adding that they made a concerted effort to work faster than they did on 2007’s In Rainbows, which took three years to make. “That was the end of Radiohead mark two,” he said. “The only way that will work for us to carry on is to actually to it in a different spirit—enjoy it.” Hopefully they’ll release it soon, though, because the music industry will cease to exist in a few months.
