Gowanus Birds nest

Prospect Park officials have done a good job scaring birds away with mass murder and proposed population control by way of prehistoric species reintroduction, which is fine because some migratory bird enthusiasts from North Carolina built birdhouses (pictured) on the banks of the Gowanus. The Brooklyn Paper reports that the four bird abode-builders have been at it for two years, and to date created 25 fine homes, though many are still empty because, you know, toxic! Nevertheless, thank you, Canal Nest Colony team, for teaching Brooklyn bird-brains some Southern hospitality.
