New Brooklyn Bridge Park Bike Lane

A key connection in the Brooklyn waterfront greenway route—basically, in fact, the connector between its North and South Brooklyn sections—should be ready “within the next week” according to today’s Post.

That approximately 15-block stretch alongside and briefly through Brooklyn Bridge Park will allow waterfront cyclists to get from Atlantic Avenue to Old Fulton Street without going against traffic along Furman Street, which is getting a barriered two-way lane (pictured, above left, photos from Brownstoner). Cyclists not willing to navigate cross-town through Downtown Brooklyn (and who can blame them?) will soon have a continuous route from Red Hook to Greenpoint.
