Nobody rides for free.

  • Nobody rides for free.

We liked all the other SummerScreen movies but let’s be honest, Point Break is the one. When other movies let us down, Point Break has been there, and we know that after we’ve had our fun with other flicks, it’ll be us and Point Break. That’s just the way it is and the way it always will be, because at the end of the day, you want a movie that will make you laugh, make you cry, and have a scene where a guy in a rubber Ronald Regan mask throws a pitbull at Keanu Reeves.

Whether it be the splendorous performance delivered by Patrick Swayze whilst in a free-fall skydive, the sexy deck change portrayed by the chick from A League of Their Own, or the various vehicles that are set ablaze every twelve minutes (we’ve timed it), every second of this film is like a warm, gentle hug from Gary Busey. And this week, you can come watch us make sweet, passionate nerd love to our favorite movie at SummerScreen.

As always, please arrive at the McCarren Park Ballfields (on N12th and Beford) at 6 pm to check out the live music shows curated by Free Williamsburg. The kinda-sorta Peter, Paul and Mary trio of Total Slacker plays this week along with someone else who has not been confirmed. We’re hoping for Sheryl Crow to come sing “Hundreds of Tears,” but it’s don’t be disappointed if she doesn’t show up.

Don’t forget to enter our Fandango Contest, and drink some Sixpoint and eat all the San Loco, Asia Dog, and Porchetta you can stack into your school bus getaway car.

And for all of you sons and daughters of Zuma beach who don’t have a super sweet party in the valley to go to after the movie, Pete’s Candy Store is having an after party with $3 pints of Six Point Sweet Action and a $9 Panini and Six Point special for the first 50 Pete’s cardholders. You can pick up your Pete’s card at the SummerScreen front desk at the entrance to the park.
Please join us as we put Sex Wax in our hair to make it Swayze in the wind. See you Wednesday, bro.
