The NY Observer sent media mogul, insider trader and celebrity lifestyle guru Martha Stewart to review MoMA’s new kitchen design exhibition, Counter Space: Design and the Modern Kitchen (through March 14), and save a few awkward phrases, she does very well. Stewart’s not a fan of the exhibition’s central showpiece, Margarete Schutte-Lihotzky’s “Frankfurt Kitchen” (1926-1927):
A design icon, perhaps, but I found it to be a severe one. It reminded me so much of one of the few kitchens I have owned that was of no interest to me whatsoever—the Gordon Bunshaft kitchen in his own house on Georgica Pond in East Hampton.
