Damn. Not unlike a clunky Hollywood screenplay, the Queens bus driver who tried to pull Thursday’s lone tornado victim from her crushed car has died from a related aneurysm, just one month from his retirement and only two days from his wedding.

Fifty-seven-year-old Richard Bermudez, who suffered from high blood pressure, had been on a ventilator for three days after slumping over in a friend’s car the day after the tornado. Originally from Puerto Rico, Bermudez was set to marry Esperanza Tores on Friday.
