As our own Sarah Shanfield pointed out while unlocking her innermost feelings in her Beer Journal, this weekend’s best event for beer-guzzling cyclists has got to be the Bike Brooklyn Beer Blitz, just another wonderful part of NY Craft Beer Week. You’ll wheel your way through Williamsburg and Bushwick — once upon a time (in the late 1800s) America’s most densely populated brewing neighborhoods — hitting up former breweries, factories and brewers’ mansions that have since been turned into, I dunno, banks maybe? There’ll be a pit stop (also, a post-tour happy hour) at Matt Torrey’s for some refreshment, the liquified alcoholic kind, before winding over to Evergreen Cemetery, the final resting place of some of the most famous brewers. Here, “you’ll be greeted with a surprise,” says the press release. I imagine this will be beer. Tips and ticket info after the jump:
Take your bike to Brooklyn Bike and Board for a 10 percent discount on a tune-up plus a $5 discount on your Bike Beer Blitz ticket. Just be sure to mention “Bike Brooklyn Beer Blitz” while there. You can buy your ticket right at the shop.
