So, about this Blue Ribbon Glee Club, who’s performing tonight after the New York City Opera‘s rendition A Quiet Place as part of Act 4, our new afterparty/culture program we haven’t been able to shut up about. About them. They’re a 30-some-member a cappella group, save for the occasional tambourine shake or tribal drum thump, coming to us from Chicago. Doesn’t seem like anything out of the ordinary… until they start in on “Waiting Room” by Fugazi. Or “Bad Kids” by the Black Lips. Or maybe “Where Is My Mind?” by The Pixies. The videos down below will do far more justice than me writing about them, and, will you look at that, they must’ve raided Urban Outfitters of every blue clothing item they carry. More details on how to see ’em tonight here and here.
Um, this awesome:
Black Lips’ “Bad Kids”
The Pixies’ “Where Is My Mind?”
