Cyclists steal cell phones

Our delightful New York Post, always happy to stoke the fires of anti-bike rage, is at it again: Did you know that our borough is in the grips of a wave of bicycle-aided smartphone-snatchings? Yes! In a piece with the accusatory headline “Cyclists swipe cells in ride-by robberies,” the Post counts six cyclist cell phone snatchers in six weeks, striking in Park Slope, Prospect Heights and Boerum Hill, mostly going for iPhones. The last two robberies took place on November 24, which means we’re due for the next bike-by phone theft. Trust no cyclists; pocket those $800 phones. (Streetsblog)
