At just after 10pm last night, a fire broke out at famed Manhattan venue Roseland Ballroom on W. 52nd Street and Eighth Avenue. Fortunately, there was no event taking place at the time. According to NBC, the two-alarm fire was located in the mezzanine section of the club. No one was hurt, and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Also according to NBC, 76% of their readers are “sad” about this news, while 10% of them are “bored” by it and 5% of them are “laughing” at it. I was gonna make a joke about how pissed I’d have been if this had happened while I was seeing Primus there in 1995, but now I won’t, for fear that it would put me in that last 5%, which just wouldn’t be nice at all, now would it?
