If nothing else, you’ve got to hand it to Mr. Bear for knowing how to keep himself in the news. Rather than keeping the songs tightly under wraps for the follow-up to his much drooled-over debut solo album, Person Pitch, Animal Collective’s Panda Bear, a.k.a. Noah Lennox, released one track a time for months and months, to the point where it seems like we haven’t gone a single day without reading something about him. Either another new 7″ (containing albums tracks) was going on sale or was about to sell out, or there’d been a confirmed tracklist or cover art or god knows what else. All that is just about behind us now, as you can finally hear Tomboy in its entirety over at NPR. It is, unsurprisingly, quite enjoyable. When I first pressed play, though, the sound on my computer had been shut off, but my iTunes was still playing, so when I turned the volume back on, I spent a few seconds listening to it with the Extra Lens record playing at the same time. Not altogether unpleasant. Just sayin.
