The time-honored tradition of heading to Coney Island each July for the Village Voice’s Siren Festival and alternating, or futilely planning to alternate, between beer and water in hopes of somehow not dying of dehydration in the sweltering heat and soul-crushing humidity is now officially a thing of the past. Just before 10pm last night (weird timing, eh?), the Voice announced that after a 10-year run, Siren is no more.
But fear not! They also announced The 4Knots Festival—a brand new, all-day affair taking place at the South Street Seaport on July 16th. There aren’t a whole lot of details to go around just yet, with lineup announcements still to come, but they do mention that admission will be free, so that’s nice. We’ll get you more details as they become available, of course.
