Apparently, Bastille Day was yesterday. But don’t tell that to the Roebling Tea Room, who, in true revolutionary fashion, is celebrating it on Saturday night. From 6pm-11:30pm, the restaurant is throwing its “Bastille Blowout,” a Reign of Terror for your stomach and liver including: blood sausage, lots of duck, le shellfish, “tons of wine,” buyback tokens, Kronenbourg and candlelight. Everything is a la carte, a nice break from the usual holiday “deal” that requires you to buy some pricey prix fixe meal.
If that much gluttony just isn’t enough, you can always stock up on tickets to Meatopia this Saturday at Smorgasburg. Meatlord/event organizer Josh Ozersky is doing you a mitzvah by selling tickets for the events at 15 percent off at his booth, where he will be flipping burgers (a topic he knows well) made with Pat LaFrieda meat. Meatopia takes place on July 23rd and features some insanely good chefs like April Bloomfield (Spotted Pig), Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo (Animal in L.A.), Michael White (Osteria Morini), Noah Bernamoff (Mile End) and many more.
