Two-for-one happy hours are usually limited to mediocre beers in booze-stained dive bars (not that there is anything wrong with that). Rarely, however, are fine wines on the menu. At Wyne a Bit, the new wine bar in Greenpoint from the owners of Pierre Loti, you can order a nice glass of Riesling or pinot noir and get your second one completely gratis between 5pm-7pm, every single day of the week.
The 28-seat cafe also serves a menu of casual, inexpensive fare like Panini filled with things like spicy salami and Gruyere cheese, plus a variety of savory and sweet crepes, all ringing in at $8. Cheese and meat plates, salads and snacks like olives and hummus are also on the menu.
Of course, visiting the bar after happy hour can be pretty fun too. It stocks about 45 different Old and New World Wines, plus it has four European beers on tap. Expect events like wine tasting in the future once the bar is more established.
