And Now We Will Give One of You $100 to Buy Some of the Really, Really Good Records That Came Out Today

Off the top of my head, a partial list of noteworthy records being released today: Girls’ Father, Son, Holy Ghost, Das Racist’s Relax, Wild Flag’s Wild Flag, St. Vincent’s Strange Mercy, Cymbals Eat Guitars’ Lenses Alien, Laura Marling’s A Creature I Don’t Know, CANT’s Dreams Come True, Slow Club’s Paradise, Milagres’ Glowing Mouth, and a reissue of Superchunk’s Foolish.

It’s a lot, I know, and records are expensive, I really know, so I asked the higher-ups around here if we could give one of you a $100 Insound gift card to help defray some of the cost of this week’s purchases, and bless their souls, they said yes. So here’s what you have to do to win:

1) Follow @TheLMagazine on Twitter. Real talk while we’re here? I’d be honored if you’d follow me, too. And maybe Lauren Beck. She’s nice and suddenly can’t stop talking about college football.

2) Retweet this tweet.

3) Tweet at @TheLMagazine with a list of the records you’d buy if we were to choose you. The focus should probably be on new releases, but we certainly won’t complain if you throw a carefully chosen old one in there as well.

Ok, good luck, you guys.

  • that would be awesome if I could offload the 1500 I already have and then buy some more but alas with no where to put them arrrrghhh!! I guess I will have to pass

  • Here’s an additional challenge: is there a single goddamned bricknmortar store where I can buy the Slow Club album? So far the answer appears to be probably not! I don’t want to make Amazon my first thought when I’m thinking of buying an indie rock record!
