Little Putnam Plaza, the triangular mini-park at the three-way intersection of Fulton Street, Grand and Putnam avenues in Clinton Hill, just got a lot bigger with the annexing of the bordering block of Putnam Avenue. Yesterday the Department of Transportation covered the asphalt with gravel and epoxy, and Streetsblog reports that tables and chairs will be in place by week’s end.

The street-to-plaza conversion—in the style of that in Times Square, minus the giant wave painting— is a partnership between the Fulton Area Business Alliance and the DOT. More info on the Public Plaza program here, but sadly nothing about where the next one will appear—may we recommend South 6th Street between Bedford Ave and Berry Street?
