Chuck Klosterman has lived in Brooklyn since January—which is when we thought we saw him at Dave Itzkoff’s book launch—and he thinks that this is a good excuse for why he doesn’t know which neighborhood he lives in. I mean, how can a guy know the name of his community when he’s only been there 10 months? In an interview with Gothamist, he said he thinks it’s Boerum Hill.
It’s sort of like I live pretty close to Carroll Gardens but I don’t live in Carroll Gardens. I’m like closer to Manhattan, so think it might be Boerum Hill. I’m not sure what qualities I like about it; I don’t know what the qualities of Boerum Hill are supposed to be.
We don’t either, because we only researched the top 12 neighborhoods in our Brooklyn Neighborhood Power Rankings feature, and Boerum Hill came in 16th! It could be Cobble Hill, though; Mr. Klosterman, is it like this? If not, I guess no one, including Klosterman, will ever know, though the Carroll Gardens Patch has some advice: “Why don’t you ask someone!”
