Consider this the first in a long run of pieces looking back at the bands that got people (bloggers) talking this year, culminating in an inevitable free-for-all of “best of 2011″ lists from every single person you’ve ever met in your entire life. Here we have Yuck, one of the first breakout bands of the year, one that ran the gamut of 90s influences and set the stage for what became 10 obsessed months with the bygone decade. This time around, there were no Visa issues or snowstorms keeping the British newcomers — can we still call them “newcomers”? — from playing a two-night stint at Music Hall of Williamsburg last week. Photographer Nadia Chaudhury was there on Friday to make sure they’ve stayed as wildly in love with denim as they were when they made their NYC debut at Glasslands in January. It’s important to realize that some things never change, you know?
