Wing enthusiasts may quibble, but many regard the chicken wings at Bonnie’s Grill in Park Slope as the best in the borough. Now, owner Mike Naber’s wing sauce is being physically carted from Park Slope to Carroll Gardens, thanks to Paul Hamill, the Bonnie’s server who now runs the kitchen at Abilene. (He also co-owns the Third Avenue bar Lowlands with some of the Abilene folks.)
“We also use the Bonnie’s pulled pork recipe at Abilene,” Hamill says. “If I had room in the kitchen I’d put in the type of grill they use at Bonnie’s so we could do the same burgers, but as it is now, we can’t. But we make a pretty damned good burger anyway.” The revamped menu is available for eat-in or take-out, but they’re not offering delivery yet.
