Citizen journalists, bring out your iPhones! A bespectacled and be-Ginsberg’d Daniel Radcliffe is hanging around Smith Street and 1st Place today, according to The Observer, where he is filming for thriller Kill Your Darlings.

Not much about the film has been revealed, but Cinema Blend reports that the plot will revolve around actual events in the early lives of beats Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac, his girlfriend Edie Parker and their friend Lucien Carr. At just 19 years-old, and entrenched in Columbia University’s beat scene, Carr stabbed to death his obsessive, older admirer, David Kammerer, who was also a friend of William S. Burroughs. It’s pure speculation, but if you’re itching to get a sense of the plot, one might guess that Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg’s early letters to one another could give a sense of how the film will unfold.

As for Mr. Radcliffe—he makes an acceptable Ginsberg, right? Maybe not as much as James Franco did in Howl. Of course, the ultimate Ginsberg casting would have been Lincoln Restler, Brooklyn’s own 50th Assembly Democratic State Committeeman. Seriously, check out the likeness.
