- E. 7th Street, between avenues I and J
The priciest block in Brooklyn is in Midwood, the Epoch Times reports. The median home price on the block bordered by avenues I and J, Ocean Parkway and Seventh Avenue, is $4.35 million, according to a study of blocks with at least three home sales in the last two years. [They must mean E. 7th Street, not Seventh Avenue.] In September, a house sold on the block for $6 million. Second place went to the block bordered by State and Joralemon streets, Willow Place and Hicks Street in Brooklyn Heights, where the media price was $3.125 million. Third place was a block in Park Slope near the park, where the median price $2.818 million. (Their definition of a block seems to be different from ours—that is, where homes’ rears meet, not where their fronts face.)
Of the top 10, three were in Park Slope, two in Cobble Hill, and one each in Brooklyn Heights, Carroll Gardens, Homecrest, Manhattan Beach, and Midwood. See the full list here.
