The beginning of June means one thing. Northside Festival is almost here, and we’re bursting with bands and films, art and entrepreneurs all ready to take over Williamsburg and Greenpoint. You can check out our full schedule here, but here’s some of the the CliffsNotes. You’re a music fan? Don’t miss out on shows by GZA, Jens Lekman, Of Montreal, as well as the 300 other performers. We’ve got shows going on in tons of venues around the borough, from outdoor venues to brand new spots. And bands like Twin Sister and Cold Cave are being announced all the time. To fit in all the bands, look at our band schedule here.
But there’s so much more than music. Northside Art will take over for three days of the best in Brooklyn art, presented by the experts at art blogazine Hyperallergic. Northside Film has its biggest year ever, with tons of Brooklyn premieres. Get a sneak peek at the new Michelle Williams-Seth Rogen film Take This Waltz, or see the much-buzzed-about new flick Redlegs if you missed it at reRun Gastropub. There will also be special events, like the New York premiere of Ai Wei Wei: Never Sorry with a Q&A with director Alison Klayman. Or our screening of Lena Dunham’s first feature Creative Nonfiction. In addition to all these fresh new flicks, we’ll be screening some old favorites like seventies horror flick Fascination and Todd Solondz’s cult favorite Welcome to the Dollhouse.
And for the huge (and growing) NYC startup/tech community, Northside Entrepreneurship has over forty panels and speakers lined up. We’ve also got our Startup Campus at NYU Poly’s Downtown campus, and “The HÜB” a meeting place, lounge, and showcase for Northside’s tech and startup elite. Not to mention the Trade Show, which will take over 20,000 sq. feet of the Northside Warehouse.
It’s almost too much. So much that you don’t want to miss a second of it, right? Well the best way to see it all is to buy badges! It’s easy, just go to the Badges and Tickets page on our website. Now you’re all set, and you can stay up to date by following us on Twitter, like us on Facebook, or add our blog to your RSS feed.
