Everyone needs to eat. Brooklyn is lucky to have what seems like infinite options—you could get lost in the vast and varied dining scene. Every year, new restaurants crop up all over the borough, but not all of them are worth a visit. This is our list of the 10 that stand out from all the rest, the ones you need to visit as soon as possible. Everyone needs to eat, but not everyone gets to experience food at this level. Treat yourself.

  • With all due respect, I have eaten at many of the above restaurants, and Battersby doesn’t even deserve to be on this list. L magazine, shame on you for not thinking for yourselves and drinking the kool aid. Further although Gwynnett St is the best restaurant on this list by far, they opened in November 2011. Do your homework.

  • Funny you don’t even know that Cayler’s chef left at the end of summer and they don’t even do small plates anymore. Lurk more! List seems pretty contrived if none of these places were re-visited at the end of the year.
