Last Friday evening, the New York City Ballet kicked off the 2013 NYCB Art Series, a newly revitalized program commissioning contemporary artists to create original works inspired by NYCB. Past artist collaborations include Andy Warhol, Keith Haring and Julian Schnabel. This year, they partnered with Brooklyn-based artists Patrick McNeil and Patrick Miller, better known as the art collective FAILE. Ballet-goers received a limited edition work of art by the artists and joined us downstairs in the lobby for an after party in the shadow of FAILE’s 16-foot wide, 40-foot tall Tower of FAILE. Thank you to our friends at Sixpoint Brewery!

And if you missed the show last week, don’t despair. The works will be on view to the public from February 10-17 during special gallery hours, and the next Art Series performance hits the stage on May 29. Click here for more information and you’ll find more photos after the jump.
