PHOTO: Red Hook Banksy Leaving Red Hook

The Banksy piece in Red Hook that began the mysteryman’s monthlong “residency” on the streets of New York City—and was quickly defaced by OMAR NYC—was being dismantled this morning for its trip to Miami, where it’ll be sold at an art fair. Gallery owner Stephan Keszler purchased the work (the wall?) earlier this month; the work is expected to fetch $400,000, even though it was dissed. (Since the defacing, the piece was protected by plexiglass, then welded steel and a night watchman.)
