The L and Brooklyn Magazine‘s parent company, Northside Media Group, is seeking interns in multiple departments for Winter/Spring! Think you have a great take on news and culture in Brooklyn that goes beyond the normal Times trend piece? Come be our editorial intern! Or maybe you’d like to help in organizing and planning some of our famed events including Northside Festival, SummerScreen and Taste Talks? Events and sales interns will be involved in the planning and execution of our many events, as well as helping with large-scale advertising and sales efforts. Interested? Read on for more details!
Responsibilities: Editorial interns are expected to pitch stories daily and should generally be working on multiple pieces at once, from two- or three-paragraph news posts to larger, heavily reported articles. Additional responsibilities will include helping other editors with research, fact-checking, and compiling event listings for our websites.
Qualifications: Excellent writing skills, WordPress, web-savvy, social media skills, basic HTML preferred. Must have editorial knowledge of what’s happening culturally in Brooklyn and beyond. Must be able to commit to two days (16 hours) in office per week.

Event and Sales Interns:
Responsibilities: Assisting with the development, management and maintenance of sales initiatives, aiding in the creation of blog and social media copy, light administrative work. Interns will also work with the events team to plan and execute numerous events. Interns will also be expected to help out at Northside events when available.
Qualifications: Excellent writing skills, WordPress, web-savvy, basic HTML preferred. Must be able to commit to two days (16 hours) in office per week, and be willing to help out at company events.
