“These photographs were taken over a three-month period in Sunnyside, Queens. The series came about as I walked to and from my apartment and began to notice interesting cars parked on the street. I set rules for how the cars would be shot: they must be unique and, if not, at least in a state of disrepair or neglect; the cars must have no other vehicles nearby and be dead center in the frame; the street must always be shown; and cars can’t be sought out — they must always be on a street that I’m walking on at the time.”
Christopher Benton lives in Brooklyn and is a photographer, art buyer and musician.
