No, lots of people still see a big, money-making future for the waterfront neighborhood, and now Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is jumping into the mix, with a planned location opening next Spring.
"[Gowanus] offered us the type of building I like," said Dinosaur founder John Stage. "[It's] semi industrious, right on the R line on 4th Avenue, good rents, great vibe. I’m thrilled to be coming to Brooklyn and to be part of an exciting, evolving neighborhood."
While Stage said the restaurant will be working on a few new items for their first Brooklyn location (the company was founded in Syracuse, and their Harlem branch is a mainstay), he added, "It's all the same to our genre of southern-style barbecue, smoke-pit style and homemade side dishes." That, and huge selection of local beers.
Unfortunate timing, maybe, but we somehow doubt anyone will object to the prospect of more barbecue options in Brooklyn.
