On Tuesday night, Brooklyn Brewery and the NYC Brewer's Guild hosted an event called Drink For Good: A Hurricane Sandy Relief Fundraiser. Proceeds from the event (tickets were $40) went to Rockaway Surf Club, Red Hook Initiative and Coney Recovers, organizations set up to help three New York City neighborhoods badly affected by the storm. A ticket got you unlimited samples from more than a dozen highly regarded craft breweries, from locals like Kelso, Sixpoint, Bronx Brewing and, of course, Brooklyn Brewery, to some big names from out of town, too, like Dogfish Head, Founders and Lagunitas. Photographer Robert Caputo was on hand to document the whole thing.

In related news, though, before we get to the photos, a group of eight Long Island breweries have teamed up to produce a beer that will raise money for an organization called Long Island Cares and for Barrier Brewing, the outstanding Long Island brewery that incurred nearly $100,000 in damage from the storm. The beer will be called Sandy Relief IPA and will be available on tap in the coming weeks and in bottles early next year.
