How to Spend Your NYC Beer Week

Believe us — we don’t need a whole lot of incentive to wile away our days drinking beer. After all, we’re living in the best borough for brew in the whole darn city…how can anyone else ever hope to compete with our killer breweries (Brooklyn Brewery, Sixpoint), specialty stores (Bierkraft, Brouwerij Lane), and intense per capita concentration of craft beer bars and gastropubs?
Still and all, it’s hard not to get especially psyched about suds during the annual NYC Beer week, now in it’s fifth year. Coordinated by the New York City Brewers Guild, over 100 different venues throughout the boroughs will host more than 300 beer-centric events. Think limited edition tastings and cask tappings at Banter, beer-pairing dinners at applewood, and the always anticipated Split Thy Skull event at Mugs Ale House, a celebration of brews with ridiculously high alcohol content.
