Sicilian Lamb Sugo at Krescendo

It remains an anomaly why a celebrity chef — make that a celebrity pastry chef — make that a San Francisco-based celebrity pastry chef — would move all the way to Brooklyn just to open an underwhelming pizza joint. But if you can get past the pies, Elizabeth Falkner demonstrates a stroke of promised brilliance with composed dishes like Sicilian Lamb Sugo, a thick ragu of tomato, lamb and aromatics spooned over ribbons of fresh pappardelle. Now if we could just work on those pizzas…
