49. Rita HayworthBorn in Brooklyn to a Spanish father and Irish-English mother, Hayworth's birth name is one of the Brooklyniest we ever heard: Margarita Cansino. Of course, in the early 20th century, Hollywood wasn't putting no "Margarita Cansino" in pictures, so she changed her name to something less ethnic and became a star, appearing in some of our favorite movies (
Only Angels Have Wings, Gilda) and opposite some of our favorite leading men (Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly).
