At a recent movie premiere, Danza spoke with the Wall Street Journal and said, "I’m of a certain age, and you see things, and you think maybe you could help. You say: ‘Let me fix the city. Let me run for Mayor.’” Not everyone says that, Tony Danza! But you do, because you're special and a magical person.
Danza clearly wants an in with his Brooklyn base (not that he needs it, because, he's Tony Danza...have you SEEN him tap dance?) because one of the platforms that he would potentially run on is the reduction of cars and the promotion of things like the city's bike share program. Danza describes himself as a "real user of mass transit" and showed off his "tattered Metrocard" to the WSJ reporter before saying that he also supports "rollerblades — I’m a skater. You can’t even take a cab from 50th to 70th street now. If it was up to me, I’d go for the congestion price."
However, when pressed by the WSJ over whether or not he was truly committed to running for office, Danza said, "“I’m concerned, I’m up-to-date, I read the papers. But could I stand the scrutiny? I’m not sure. It’s a tough job. And it’s not like anybody’s asking me.”
We're asking you, Tony Danza! Run for mayor! Seriously. We want to see you debate Alec Baldwin!
