Brooklyn in the Midst of Hurricane Sandy

As Hurricane Sandy's winds and rains finally reach Brooklyn, State Senate hopeful Andrew Gounardes posted on Facebook a photograph of flooding in Gerritsen Beach. But mostly my Facebook feed has been full of photos of Red Hook; the terminus of Van Brunt Street (above) and the Beard Street piers are already underwater. The Times' homepage this morning featured two photographs of Red Hook. [photo]
