Fund For Couple Killed in Ditmas Park Benefits Sean Casey

By now you've likely heard of the tragic deaths of Jessie Streich-Kest and Jacob Vogelman, who were pinned by an uprooted tree while walking their dog Max during the storm Monday night.
After initially setting up a fund to cover veterinary costs for the dog (who was also injured in the accident) the family is now asking that donations be made in their name to our friends over at Sean Casey Animal Rescue. Donations can be made online here.
"Jessie was an amazing young woman who was known and loved by many NYCC members, staff and allies," said a family spokesperson of Streich-Kest, who was a teacher at the Bushwick High School for Social Justice. "Jessie loved life and was deeply devoted to social justice." Vogelman was a Brooklyn College student who had known Streich-Kest since middle school, and both were native Brooklynites.
