7 Times the NYPD Lied

Paul Browne liar
Guilty: Paul Browne
No one has indicted the NYPD spokesman (yet!), but he's a serial liar, a compulsive liar, a lying fucking liar. Like the time Commissioner Ray Kelly was found appearing in what Gawker called a "vicious Islamophobe movie" and Browne said the footage was taken from somewhere else. And then it turned out Browne had recommended Kelly to appear in the film. "to tell two different reporters, a year apart, that Kelly was never interviewed for a film he appeared in, and that Browne himself recommended Kelly be interviewed for, is almost pathological," John Cook wrote. "He is paid by New York's taxpayers, and should be fired." Hear, hear. [photo]
