Like libraries, every neighborhood has one, sometimes more than one, and they've been built and rebuilt over the years so that they embody myriad architectural styles and vogues. Firehouses are a classic part of the urban landscape, so much so it can become easy to overlook their grandeur, unusual design, or quiet beauty. So we looked at every firehouse we could in the borough; these are our favorites.
