It might seem counter-intuitive to eat hot and spicy food that makes you sweat when it's already so hot out that you're already sweating and what-the-fuck-why-does-your-sweat-smell-like-corn-chips-why-do-you-now-smell-like-a-just-opened-bag-of-Fritos. Ugh. But, in fact, eating spicy food—everything from Thai to BBQ—helps you feel cooler than if you were just eating regular food. Sure, ice cream will also cool you right down, but you can't live on ice cream alone. You can try, I guess, but I wouldn't recommend it. So head on over to Pok Pok Ny, where your mouth will definitely be set aflame, or eat a full tray of jalapeño-spiked nachos at Pork Slope, which will definitely set your tongue tingling, or eat a bunch of ribs at the soon-to-be-opened Dinosaur BBQ in Gowanus, which, well, they're just really, really good. Anyway, eat all these things and you'll feel much, much better.
